The sharp decline in product prices has made many LED power supply manufacturers in a difficult situation.

Zhang Huajian, general manager of Infineon Electronics, said that in recent years, the rapid decline in the price of domestic LED driver power supply is mainly based on two reasons. On the one hand, the price of LED lighting products has fallen, and the price of power supplies has dropped. On the other hand, it is because of the power industry. The competition is increasingly fierce.

Especially in the price confusion in the small and medium power supply market, the performance is more prominent. Due to the low barriers to entry, everyone sneaked in, including many lighting companies. "This has also caused the current market of small and medium-sized power LED drive power to be chaotic, and the product is mixed." Huapu, general manager of Huapu Yongming, said that in comparison, the high-power power market is not the same. "At present, this market has gradually formed a four-legged situation, and the threshold for new entrants is higher."

High power market pattern is stable

In recent years, the LED street lamp market has been growing at a rate of 35% per year, which has made the driving power industry a real fire. This has gradually formed a new pattern in the domestic market.

Since the beginning of this year, Philips has continuously launched a price war in the domestic market, in the hope of occupying the top spot in the high-power LED power market. Take the 150W drive power supply as an example. The price of Philips products is less than 250 yuan, while the price of Infinity is not less than 300 yuan, and the multi-channel power supply is even more than 400 yuan.

"In fact, Philips has long been involved in the high-power power market, but due to insufficient understanding of the Chinese market, the market development effect is not as obvious." Despite this, Philips is still facing the three strong rivals of Moso Power, Infineon and Mingwei Power when it is exploring the domestic high-power LED power market. According to industry insiders, Infineon is good at technical warfare, and Maoshuo Power is good at market strategy warfare. Mingwei Power has already gained a certain popularity and market share due to its early entry into the market.

In the evaluation of the four-legged situation, the industry insiders said that the market share is the first in Maoshuo, the second in Mingwei, the third in Infinex and the fourth in Philips. In terms of output, Mingwei is the first and Infineon is the second. Maoshuo third, Philips fourth; and in terms of price, Philips first, Moso second, Mingwei third, Infineon fourth.

At the same time, the above-mentioned enterprises' revenue growth also reflects the stability of the market structure from another aspect. Moso Power (002660.SZ) financial report data for the first half of 2012 showed that the company achieved LED driver power supply revenue of 77.81 million yuan, an increase of 15.37%.

The relevant person in charge of Infineon said that the company's LED driver power supply performance increased by 60% in the first half of this year. Ren Xiang, head of domestic sales of Mingwei Power, revealed that it is expected that by the end of this year, its LED driver power supply will increase by nearly 20%.

In fact, domestic power supplies have begun to gradually move to foreign markets. Moso Power has proposed in the first half of 2012 that it will actively explore the overseas power market. "The market pattern of high-power LED power supply is increasingly stable, and domestic power supply is likely to be a powerful weapon for China's LED industry to participate in international competition." Chen Kai, general manager of Maple Yongming, said.

When reporters conducted a questionnaire survey on LED streetlight application vendors, more than 95% of companies said they were more inclined to buy first-line power brands. "High-power LED power supply technology content is high, the threshold is relatively high, this pattern will be difficult to break." Zhang Huajian believes that the power supply is a short board of LED street lights, street lamp manufacturers are particularly cautious. As a key component of LED street lights, if there is a problem with the power supply, it means that it requires a large maintenance cost.
